College Benefits Research Group (CBRG) Educational Partner Discusses The Complex College Process On Regional Television

ROSELAND, NJ – Janet Loren, Partner, Educational Counselor and Certified Educational Planner (CEP), College Benefits Research Group (CBRG), recently spoke with WNYJ Television where she demystifies the various college applications and explains her distinctive role as a Certified Educational Planner (CEP).

The interview detailed the various college applications available, the role of a Certified Educational Planner (CEP), the importance of a good essay and CBRG’s ultimate goal of working with students to find colleges and programs that fit best with a student’s interests, academic achievements and the family’s finances.

The interview which aired on WNYJ’s “Community Impact” show can be viewed here.

Co-founded by Steven Sirot and David N. Slater and joined by partner, Educational Counselor and Certified Educational Planner CEP, Janet Loren, CBRG helps clients discover how a private and/or public education is affordable and attainable and allows hard-working families to hit a “home run” in finding the right school, academically, socially and financially, for their child. CBRG also assists with the filing of financial aid forms.

“CBRG is different from other college planning services in that we offer “harmonization” of financial, educational and social guidance for the entire family,” said Sirot.

“We meet jointly with students and parents to develop a college game plan that works for everyone,” he stated. “Too often college students attend a school because their friends are there, or it is the so-called ‘hot school’ that is on everyone’s radar, without any consideration of whether the school is right for them or the long-term effect it will have on family finances.”

College Benefits Research Group’s community workshops are held throughout the state and explain in detail many strategies one can employ to find the best college “fit”. To view a full list of upcoming CBRG workshops and reserve a seat one can visit the CBRG website at: or call 888-802-2740.
